The HOAWatchman site was developed to allow homeowners within a community to share information and concerns about interactions with their Homeowners Association.

HOA's typically set standards and guidelines that each homeowner should follow when they will be making important decisions about home improvements, landscape design, house color, and an array of other possible upgrades that might be envisioned.

These standards and guidelines are crafted to enhance the value of your property and ensure consistency within a community. Your HOA typically supplies a great service to the community. Sometimes however they may not have the best interest of the community at heart. If the board of directors is controlled by the property developer instead of a community elected board of directors, then you do not have any input into the management of your community. If your community does not have a voice in the decisions made by the HOA, then you may not be happy with the direction that your community is going. Will these decisions affect your monthly dues, or will special assessments be placed on your property if poor financial choices are made by HOA management?

Many communities will create groups on social media sites to document issues. These types of sites are not your best option if you wish to capture all community concerns. Some residents will not use social media because they do not want to be criticized or shamed by community members. This site allows community members to anonymously document issues in a community Blog, an area to document HOA fines imposed, and an area to document HOA developer to resident Board of Director transition issues.
